Florida State will head into its bye week on a 2-game winning streak after taking down Wake Forest on the gridiron Saturday, 17-6. There however, was another big-time FSU program in action on Saturday and other Seminole teams who will take the field Sunday. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

You weren’t the only ones watching Florida State play Wake Forest on Saturday as two of the nation’s top 40 prospects, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, took their official visits to Tallahassee.

IMG Academy defensive ends Joshua Kaindoh, a 5-star prospect and Maryland commitment and Robert Beal, a 4-star prospect and Georgia commitment, were each on hand to watch the Seminoles and Wake Forest. TDN was unable to get comment from either prospect on their official visit or whether they could be swayed from their current commitments, who each lost Saturday.

Also on hand Saturday, was 2019 defensive tackle prospect Tru Thompson. The 5-11, 330-pound high school sophomore from Loganville, Georgia is very high on the Seminoles early on in the recruiting process.

Between the Lines

In addition to Florida State’s 17-6 win over Wake Forest on the football field, FSU soccer blanked N.C. State, 1-0. Megan Connolly scored the only goal in the match, which was assisted by Olivia Bergau. Goalkeeper Cassie Miller had three saves in the victory.

On the Agenda

FSU softball will player another Garnet and Gold scrimmage before taking on Georgia Highlands College in an exhibition. FSU volleyball will host Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. EST. That match will air on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

The AP and Amway Coaches Polls will be released Sunday. TDN will have updates when they are.

FSU receiver Jesus Wilson left Saturday’s victory over Wake Forest with a foot injury and did not return. Wilson entered the game, leading FSU in catches and receiving yards.
