Saturday was a tough day for Florida State fans as they watched the football team rally from 21 points down, only to lose 37-35 to North Carolina on a 54-yard field goal as time expired. Three other FSU teams were in action and more will be on Sunday. We’ll update the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

Despite falling to 3-2 on Saturday, Florida State and Miami will still meet in prime time next week for the 10th time in 13 regular season meetings.

The Seminoles and Hurricanes will kick off at 8 p.m. EST next Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium and the game will air on ABC. Miami will enter the contest a perfect 4-0 after opening ACC play with a 35-21 win at Georgia Tech.

The Hurricanes entered the week ranked No. 14 and will likely be favorites for Saturday’s game. FSU has won six straight and nine of the last 11.

Between the Lines

In addition to Florida State’s 37-35 loss to North Carolina, FSU soccer defeated Pittsburgh 2-0 on Saturday. Kaycie Tillman and Kirsten Crowley each scored goals for the Seminoles. Cassie Miller had five saves in the win.

The men’s and women’s tennis teams were in action in Tulsa, Malibu and Tampa.

On the Agenda

The FSU women’s golf team will play in the Cougar Classic in Hanahan, South Carolina. The women’s tennis team will continue play at the Bedford Cup in Tampa. FSU volleyball will host Boston College. That match begins at 1 p.m. and will air on ACC Network Extra.
