Florida State’s highly-anticipated contest with Louisville is just hours away, but two other FSU teams were in action Friday. We’ll look back at them as well as what to look forward to on Saturday. The news and notes section will be updated as the day goes on.

Lead Story

Florida State defensive end Josh Sweat’s status for No. 2 FSU’s contest against 10th-ranked Louisville is uncertain. As we reported, Sweat suffered a knee injury on practice Thursday and did not travel with the team.

After it was revealed that there was no serious damage to his left knee, according to reports, Sweat rejoined the team in Louisville on Friday. Sweat’s status remains unknown, but according to ESPN, he will try to play. If he’s unable to go, junior linebacker Jacob Pugh will likely start in his place.

UPDATE: Sweat did play briefly in Saturday’s contest, but did not record a statistic.

Between the Lines

FSU’s cross country team took part in the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, North Carolina on Friday. The men took the team title while the FSU women finished third behind N.C. State and North Carolina.

The FSU men’s golf team took the course in Illinois for the Olympia Fields Invitational. FSU is currently tied for sixth among 15 teams. The Seminoles are 20 strokes back of leader Illinois.

On the Agenda

No. 2 FSU football visits No. 10 Louisville at noon EST. The game will air on ABC. The men’s golf team will continue play at the Olympia Fields Invitational.

News and Notes

No. 10 Louisville scored more points than any FSU opponent ever Saturday in a 63-20 victory over Florida State.
