FSU Recruiting: Noles Lose 3-Star Legacy

Entering Monday, Florida State had two legacies committed for the class of 2017, but that number has been cut in half.

On Monday night, 3-star linebacker Bradley Jennings Jr., announced his decommitment from FSU. Jennings, the son of former FSU linebacker Bradley Jennings, committed to the Seminoles in December, but had been trending toward Miami since visiting the school’s Paradise Camp.

Jennings plays his football at Sandalwood High School is Jacksonville and is the No. 636 overall recruit nationally for 2017. Jennings is also the 89th best player in the state of Florida.

Florida State’s other legacy commit for 2017, 5-star cornerback Stanford Samuels III, didn’t seem to like Jennings’ decision to decommit from FSU.

In a move that some see as an effort to replace Jennings, the Seminoles have offered a scholarship to UCF commit DeMarco Artis out of Sanford. Scout ranks Artis as a 3-star prospect.

With the loss of Jennings, FSU now has 10 players committed for 2017, but no linebackers. The Seminoles entered the day with the No. 10 overall class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, but dropped to 12th with the loss of Jennings.
