Before they’re ready to put up numbers on the scoreboard and in the box score, they first have to wear them across their chest. Florida State incoming freshmen and junior college transfers’ jersey numbers were unveiled with the release of updated rosters in the media guide for ACC Kickoff. The new numbers were first reported by Safid Deen of the Tallahassee Democrat.

It was previously reported that 5-star cornerback Levonta Taylor would wear No. 1. The number is shared by wide receiver Ermon Lane and was worn last season by safety Tyler Hunter.

Linebacker Dontavious Jackson will share No. 5 with receiver Da’Vante Phillips. The number was previously worn defensively by linebacker Reggie Northrup, who led the team in tackles in each of the last two seasons.

As he did in the spring, quarterback Malik Henry will wear No. 6. Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson wore the number last year. Linebacker Matthew Thomas wears it for the FSU defense.

Defensive end Janarius Robinson will share No. 11 with sophomore receiver George Campbell. Graduated defensive tackle Derrick Mitchell wore the number last season.

Cornerback Carlos Becker will don No. 15. Junior wide receiver Travis Rudolph wears the number on offense.

Special teamers Logan Tyler and Ricky Aguayo will wear No. 21 and 23, respectively. Aguayo wore the number during the spring and will share it with senior fullback Freddie Stevenson. Tyler was set to share No. 21 with senior Chris Casher, who had recently moved from defensive end to tight end, but Casher was not listed on the updated roster.

Fullback Greg Nabers will wear No. 35 while cornerback Kyle Meyers will wear No. 37. 37 was worn last season by Keelin Smith.

Offensive lineman Baveon Johnson and linebacker Josh Brown will each wear No. 51. Brown wore the number for the Seminoles during the spring.

Linebacker Emmett Rice will wear No. 56. Offensive linemen Andrew Boselli, Mike Arnold, Landon Dickerson, Jauan Williams and Josh Ball will wear 60, 65, 69, 73 and 79, respectively.

Tight end Naseir Upshur will don the No. 82 while receiver Keith Gavin will wear 89. As he did in the spring, Walvenski Aime will wear No. 94. Brian Burns will wear 99, which belonged to defensive tackle Nile Lawrence-Stample last season.
