Florida State’s top two receivers from a season ago have been named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, which was released Wednesday.

Travis Rudolph, a junior, and senior Kermit Whitfield were among 53 FBS players on the list. The award named for former FSU star and Super Bowl XI MVP Fred Biletnikoff is annually given to the nation’s top receiver.

Rudolph led the Seminoles in receiving as a sophomore in 2015, finishing with 59 catches for 916 yards and seven touchdowns. Those were all team-highs.

After being used primarily as a kick returner throughout the early parts of his career, Whitfield came into his own as a receiver in 2015. The speedster from Orlando finished the year with 57 catches for 798 yards and six touchdowns.

Despite the award being named for a Florida State alum, no Seminole has ever won the award. The last player from the ACC to win it was Georgia Tech’s Calvin Johnson in 2006. Baylor Corey Coleman won the award last season.
