One day after being named a first-team Freshman All-American by Baseball America, Florida State catcher Cal Raleigh was given the same honor by Perfect Game.

In addition to Baseball America and Perfect Game, Raleigh was also honored as a Freshman All-American by Louisville Slugger. Raleigh was recognized by the ACC as well on the conference’s All-Freshman team.

During the 2016 season, Raleigh appeared in each of FSU’s 63 games, starting in 62 of them. Raleigh finished the year with a .301 batting average with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs.

Hitting in the middle of the FSU order for most of the season, Raleigh was a big reason that the Seminoles were able to win 40 games for a 39th straight year. Raleigh was among a number of young pieces for a team that was one win shy of reaching the College World Series.

Against ACC opponents, Raleigh hit .310 as a freshman, which included six of his 10 home runs.
