Florida State sophomore shortstop Taylor Walls was recognized for an outstanding season on Wednesday as he was named a third-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Walls started all 63 games for FSU and served as the table-setter at the top of the Seminole order. After hitting just .220 as a freshman, Walls batted .355 with six home runs, 46 RBIs and team-highs of 72 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.

Walls was a big reason why the Seminoles were able to win at least 40 games for a 39th straight season. Walls was previously named a first-team All-American by Baseball America and was a second-team All-ACC selection.

Walls was the only FSU player to make the NCBWA All-American team. Third baseman John Sansone was previously honored by Louisville Slugger.
