Florida State shortstop Taylor Walls was named a first-team All-American by Baseball America on Tuesday.

Walls, a sophomore, has been the table-setter all season long for FSU. Walls is hitting .367 on the season with 6 home runs and 45 RBIs. Walls ranks second nationally with 71 runs scored as well.

Walls becomes the third FSU shortstop to receive first-team All-American honors. Dick Howser and Stephen Cardullo were previously honored.

FSU recently went a perfect 3-0 in the Tallahassee Regional. The Seminoles will take on the nation’s No. 1 seed in Florida in a best-of-three Super Regional, beginning at 6 p.m. EST on Saturday in Gainesville.
