FSU Recruiting: Noles Remain in Mix for 5-Star WR

Florida State remains one of six teams in the mix for Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Trevon Grimes.

Grimes unveiled his top six schools on Monday with the Seminoles being joined by Alabama, rivals Florida and Miami, Georgia and Ohio State. At 6-3 and more than 200 pounds, Grimes is a big receiver with blazing speed.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Grimes is the No. 23 overall recruit for 2017 and the fourth-ranked receiver overall. Grimes is a 5-star prospect and the fifth-ranked player in the state of Florida.

The Seminoles already have one receiver committed for 2017 in 4-star Jacksonville native D.J. Matthews. FSU jumped from 15th to No. 11 in the composite team rankings for 2017 by receiving the commitment of 3-star tight end Alexander Marshall over the weekend.
