The ACC Baseball Tournament is underway and the NCAA Softball Tournament is set to hit the Super Regional round and Florida State is hoping to perform well at each. Here’s a look at what FSU teams and players have been performing well lately and which ones’ stock is down:

Stock Up

FSU softball pitching: Florida State went 3-0 during the Tallahassee Regional, allowing just one total run over the three games. ACC Pitcher of the Year Jessica Burroughs got the regional off to a strong start with a no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Florida A&M. Burroughs and freshman Meghan King combined for a shutout in the first of two games against South Carolina before King worked a complete game, allowing just one run in the finale. FSU will host Utah in the Super Regional round, which begins Friday.

FSU freshmen Jackson Lueck and Tyler Holton: Freshman outfielder Jackson Lueck had a doubleheader to remember on Saturday as Florida State split two with rival Miami. Lueck went 5-for-10 with four runs scored and two RBIs during the doubleheader, including the walk-off home run in the 10th inning of the nightcap. Tyler Holton started that game for the Seminoles and worked six solid innings, allowing just one run on two hits and one walk to get a no-decision. Holton also struck out eight Hurricanes.

Stock Down

FSU shortstop Taylor Walls: Despite being named second-team All-ACC on Monday, Florida State sophomore shortstop Taylor Walls enters the ACC Tournament in a rut. In three games against Miami last week, Walls was a combined 1-for-12 at the plate.

FSU’s regional seeding: Just a few short weeks ago, Florida State was competing for a national seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. As of now, FSU is just fighting to host a regional. According to Baseball America, the Seminoles are currently not slated to be one of the 16 teams hosting a regional. D1Baseball.com currently has Florida State as a regional host.

Worth Noting

Three Florida State players were honored by the ACC on Monday. Third baseman John Sansone was named first-team All-ACC, shortstop Taylor Walls was named to the conference’s second team and catcher Cal Raleigh was named to ACC’s All-Freshman team.
FSU begins the ACC Baseball Tournament on Wednesday against N.C. State.
The FSU women’s golf team finished 15th at the NCAA Championships over the weekend.
It was announced on Tuesday that Florida State’s men’s basketball team will host Minnesota in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 28. FSU has lost eight straight in the challenge, including to Iowa in overtime last season.
Benjamin Lock of the FSU men’s tennis team was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Most Improved Player on Tuesday. Lock finished 8-3 in ACC play this season.
