FSU Baseball: Seminoles Secure Fourth Seed in ACC Tournament

Florida State will be the No. 4 seed in the 2016 ACC Tournament which begins on Tuesday in Durham. The Seminoles closed the regular season 34-19 and 16-10 in ACC play.

FSU will first take the field on Wednesday against fifth-seeded North Carolina State at 11 a.m. EST. The Seminoles defeated the Wolfpack in the only meeting between the teams in Tallahassee earlier this year. The final two games of the series were rained out.

Florida State will face the winner of Tuesday’s game between Boston College and Georgia Tech on Thursday at 3 p.m. EST. The Seminoles were a combined 4-0 against those two teams this season.

After a day off on Friday, FSU will take on top-seeded Miami at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Hurricanes recently took two of three from the Seminoles in Tallahassee.

FSU and its three opponents make up Pool A of the tournament. The winner of Pool A will face the winner of Pool B, which includes Louisville, Clemson, Virginia and the winner of Duke and Wake Forest.

The conference’s championship game will be held at noon EST on Sunday. The Seminoles took the ACC crown last season by going a perfect 4-0 at the ACC Tournament, beating Clemson, North Carolina, Louisville and ultimately N.C. State.

The first three games will air on the Raycom Sports Network. The ACC Championship will be shown on ESPN2.
