Florida State’s final scheduled road contest of the regular season was cancelled on Tuesday. The Seminoles had hoped to get the game with Stetson in, but thunderstorms and heavy rain made sure that didn’t happen.

The contest was originally scheduled for May 4, but rain postponed it by nearly two weeks. FSU took both games in Tallahassee when the teams played last month, but a match-up between the teams in DeLand was not in the cards.

The contest was the fifth this season cancelled by rain. The Seminoles lost two home games against N.C. State to rain and two at Boston College to snow earlier in the year. FSU did attempt to compensate for it by scheduling two midweek games with Texas Tech and another with Florida Gulf Coast.

The Seminoles will close the regular season with three home games against rival Miami, beginning on Thursday. FSU can clinch the ACC Atlantic with a sweep of the Hurricanes and two Wake Forest victories over Louisville or by taking two of three from Miami and having the Demon Deacons sweep the Cardinals.
