Meghan King picked up her third win in as many days on Saturday as Florida State downed Notre Dame 7-3 to claim its third consecutive ACC softball crown.

FSU broke through first with an RBI single by Jessica Warren in the first inning, but the Fighting Irish answered back with a run in the second and went ahead 2-1 with a solo home run by Micaela Arizmendi in the third.

It didn’t take long for FSU to counter as the Seminoles homered three times and scored four runs in the bottom half of the frame. Ellie Cooper’s solo blast tied the game before Alex Powers put the Seminoles ahead for good with a 2-run blast two batters later. Zoe Casas padded the lead with a solo shot later in the frame.

Casey Africano made it a 5-3 game with a solo home run for Notre Dame in the top of the 4th, but FSU’s lead was made comfortable with two runs in the bottom half. After a Morgan Klaevemann single made it 6-3, Sydney Broderick earned an RBI by drawing a bases loaded walk.

The Seminoles’ seven runs came on just six hits as three different Notre Dame pitchers combined to walk eight. King didn’t walk a batter as she allowed three runs on seven hits and struck outeight in her complete game victory.

Africano had two of the Fighting Irish’s seven hits. Klaevemann scored a pair of runs for FSU in the victory.

The Seminoles will find out Sunday if the ACC crown is enough to earn a top-8 national seed. That would mean that FSU would not have to Tallahassee until the Women’s College World Series.
