It was a happy Mother’s Day for Florida State baseball fans as the Seminoles completed a 3-game sweep of Bowling Green with a 6-1 victory on Sunday at Dick Howser Stadium.

The final score was identical to the final of Friday’s series-opener, but unlike Friday where the Seminoles scored all six runs in the bottom of the 8th inning, FSU pushed across runs in five different frames. Cole Sands was solid on the mound for the Seminoles to earn the win on Sunday and over the three games, FSU yielded just two total runs.

The Good: Pitching for Florida State was again outstanding on Sunday. Sands allowed just a run on three hits in six innings while the FSU bullpen allowed just one Falcon base-runner in three innings of work. For a second day in a row, FSU did not commit an error.

The Bad: The offense again was a no-show for Bowling Green. The Falcons managed just four total hits on Sunday after being blanked on Saturday.

The Ugly: As bad as Bowling Green was at the plate on Sunday, it may have been even worse in the field. The Falcons committed four errors, including two from third baseman Derek Drewes.

Studs of the Game: Sands certainly gets part of the honor for his start for FSU, but at the plate, John Sansone and Dylan Busby each homered. Sansone was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and three RBIs. Busby was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Logan Giddings had two of the four Bowling Green hits.

Duds of the Game: In addition to committing two errors in the field, Drewes was 0-for-2 at the plate for the Falcons. FSU’s Steven Wells Jr. was 0-for-4 on Sunday.
