Florida State junior designated hitter Quincy Nieporte’s monster week was recognized by the ACC on Monday as the FSU slugger was named ACC Player of the Week.

In five games this week with Stetson and Notre Dame, Nieporte hit .400, going 8-for-20. Those eight hits included six for extra bases — three doubles and three home runs. During the weekend series with the Fighting Irish, Nieporte went 7-for-14, which included a 4-hit effort in Saturday’s 12-inning victory.

For the most part the season hasn’t gone as planned for Nieporte after an outstanding sophomore campaign in 2015. The big weekend series for the Atlanta native however, raised his average from .243 to .274. Nieporte also has four home runs and 26 RBIs for the year.

Notre Dame’s Michael Hearne was named ACC Pitcher of the Week. Hearne did not pitch over the weekend at Dick Howser Stadium.

Nieporte’s big week also earned him National Player of the Week honors from Louisville Slugger and National Hitter of the Week honors from College Sports Madness. Nieporte and FSU will now hit the road for a 3-game series with Clemson which begins on Saturday.
