Florida State lost its first ACC series of the year on Sunday as the Seminoles fell to Wake Forest, 4-2, in Winston-Salem.

Neither team scored over the final four innings as Florida State fell to 23-11 on the year and 10-4 in conference. FSU will begin a 5-game homestand on Tuesday with the first of two games against Stetson.

The Good: Both bullpens had excellent days. Ed Voyles allowed just two hits in four shutout innings of relief for Florida State while three Wake Forest relievers combined to allow just three base-runners in 3 2/3 innings.

The Bad: It was another rough day for the Florida State starting pitcher. Cole Sands allowed four runs on eight hits in just four innings of work.

The Ugly: Maximizing scoring opportunities wasn’t FSU’s strength on Sunday. Throughout the course of the day, the Seminoles hit into four double plays.

Studs of the Game: Will Craig was 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a pair of runs scored for Wake Forest in Sunday’s win. Keegan Maronpot plated a pair of runs for the Demon Deacons. Donovan Petrey hit his first home run of the season for FSU in the loss. Taylor Walls and John Sansone were each 2-for-4 at the top of the order. Walls scored the game’s first run.

Duds of the Game: Sands struggled on the mound for FSU, but at the plate, Cal Raleigh, Quincy Nieporte and Ben DeLuzio were each 0-for-3. Ben Breazeale and Johnny Aiello were each 0-for-3 for the Demon Deacons.
