After consecutive losses, Florida State bounced back nicely on Saturday with a 13-8 victory over Wake Forest. The Seminoles scored 10 runs between the third, fourth and fifth innings before adding three insurance runs in the ninth.

FSU improved to 23-10 with Saturday’s victory and 10-3 in ACC play. The series will conclude with the rubber game on Sunday.

The Good: One night after being 3-hit, the Seminoles finished with 13 hits, including five for extra bases. After a bit of a rut, the FSU bullpen returned to form on Saturday as well, allowing just one hit in 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

The Bad: Despite taking a 10-4 lead into the fourth inning, Drew Carlton couldn’t last the frame to earn the win. Carlton gave up four runs in the inning and eight for the day, with seven being earned.

The Ugly: With 21 total runs scored, there was plenty of offense, but the teams also combined to leave 21 runners on base. FSU left 11 while the Demon Deacons left 10. The teams also combined for three errors which allowed for four total unearned runs.

Studs of the Game: Jackson Lueck finished with a career-high 5 RBIs for the Seminoles on Saturday, going 2-for-5 at the plate. John Sansone was 3-for-5 with a home run, a pair of RBIs and three runs scored. Taylor Walls was 3-for-4 with three runs and as many driven in. On the mound, Jim Voyles didn’t allow a single hit in 3 1/3 innings of relief for FSU. Keegan Maronpot was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Wake Forest in the loss.

Duds of the Game: Carlton had a day to forget for the Seminoles. For Wake Forest, second baseman Nate Mondou was 0-for-5 at the plate.
