Thread: Failed rescue in Syria

    Failed rescue in Syria

So....... the White House announced they had sent a military rescue mission to Syria to rescue Foley, but nobody was home when they got there.

The only reason to release this information would be to try and let the public know the government was trying to do something, and not just sitting around doing nothing.

I'm wondering if the announcement did more harm than good.

    What's the harm?

The potential harm is to let the enemy know we had intelligence sources close to those holding Foley. Another harm is in letting the world know we failed.

That cover was blown the minute they saw us. The rescue was met with gun fire....

Regarding the failure, it wasn't because they beat us. Just no one to rescue. Intelligence failure but not a rescue failure.

Of course it does. That's how hatful obsession with he who rules presents.

I think it was a matter of let's put this out quickly so I can go play golf with a clear conscience.

Americans need to learn that having an American passport and money to travel won't guarantee your safety.....especially in that part of the world.
