The Day Democrats Never Thought Would Come

"Mr. Bush, the president Democrats had planned to run against longer than Republicans ran against Jimmy Carter, has a better image than the man who was going to slow the rise of oceans, heal the planet, end a war in the Middle East, and restore our country’s image overseas."

"Meanwhile, Mr. Obama’s fall from the days of Greek Columns and Brandenburg Gates (you know, back when he was good at the theater of politics) has been fast. At the time of his second inaugural just 20 months ago, Mr. Obama had a 52% positive/37% negative rating. By the next month, he had already slipped below 50% positive. And now, he is at 42% positive/46% negative.

So, while Mr. Bush is a net minus one on his image, Mr. Obama is a net minus four"

    Thank you Obama,...

You have done more damage to the Communist/Democratic Party, than any republican ever could.

Chuck Todd on new polling: Obama on the precipice of doing 'Carter-like' damage to Democrat brand

Why not? He's already done it to the country.

We all know Obama's policies have been an inarguable disaster. Recent polling shows that his approval rating has tanked on virtually every issue, and the number of people who support his decisions currently sits at an all-time low. So far, though, you could make a pretty strong argument that his shortcomings have - in the political sense - only caused self-inflicted wounds.

His party has managed to escape the blame associated with his failures.

According to NBC new Meet the Press host, Chuck Todd, that's changing. On today’s edition of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Todd argued that the President's train wreck is about to harm the Democrats' brand as well. Obama he says, is about to inflict "Carter-like damage" upon his own party - at least where foreign policy is concerned.

“It’s not just him. It’s actually impacting the entire party. We did some issue testing between, you know, who handles which issues. Democrats, Republicans. We took out Obama. Republicans lead by 38 points on the issue of ensuring a strong defense. He’s on the precipice of doing Jimmy Carter-like damage to the Democratic brand on foreign policy.”

The trouble for Dems is that, at the moment, foreign policy is front-and-center. Painfully flawed (or nonexistent) policies for dealing with immigration and ISIS have placed international issues at the top of U.S. citizens' concerns. ...And Obama polls on the wrong side of it all.

Furthermore, Obama has painted himself into a corner where reversal on either issue is all but impossible. Just look at the uproar over a delay - just a delay - in his plans to illegally grant amnesty via executive order. His base won't tolerate a course correction, and the rest of the country despises his current, flawed, "strategy."

If Todd is right, and Obama stands on a precipice, he has little choice but to go over it. The Dems have enabled this chaos, so they deserve what they get ...but God help the country they're dragging down with them.

    Sure seems that way.

Um. Are you serious? Bush had an approval rating way lower than Obama. On his best day, in the long stretch of his second term, Bush could have only dreamed about having a 42 percent approval rating. I remember Bush dipping in the 20's. That guy was getting run out of the country on a rail.

And the last democratic president has done nothing to alleviate the problem.
