With the loss of key pieces like Dylan Busby and Taylor Walls, Florida State won’t necessarily be rebuilding, but reloading in 2018.

According to Baseball America, the Seminoles will be bringing in a class that ranks seventh nationally and first in the ACC. After a slow start to the 2017 campaign, FSU caught fire late to win the ACC and reach the College World Series for the first time since 2012.

Florida State had nine players drafted, but many, including ace Tyler Holton and fellow pitchers Andrew Karp and Cobi Johnson will be returning. The 2017 recruiting class also includes players who were selected during June’s draft, including pitchers Austin Pollock, C.J. Van Eyk and Shane Drohan.

Other members of FSU’s class are pitchers Tyler Ahearn, Conor Grady, Gage Hutchinson, a junior college transfer, and 2-way player Jonah Scolaro, infielders Rafael Bournigal, Cooper Swanson and junior college transfer Mike Salvatore, outfielders Reese Albert and junior college transfer Skyler Frey. FSU is also bringing in two junior college catchers in Jonathan Foster and Casey Cribb.

Topping the 2017 recruiting rankings, according to Baseball America, was Vanderbilt. The Commodores were followed by Florida, Arkansas, Arizona State, South Carolina and Auburn. After FSU, rival Miami, Kentucky and Michigan rounded out the top 10.
