The Daily Nole — April 17, 2018: FSU Takes Over Top Recruiting Class for 2019

Lead Story

It’s been quite a week for head coach Willie Taggart and Florida State on the recruiting trail. As a result, the Seminoles now ranked No. 1, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

FSU moved up from 13th to into the top 10 on April 9 with the addition of 4-star quarterback Sam Howell. Over the weekend, FSU added three more 4-star prospects in guard Dontae Lucas, linebacker Jaleel McRae and wide receiver Maurice Goolsby to move up to No. 2 overall.

On Monday night, Florida State was able to take over the top spot with the addition of 3-star cornerback Renardo Green. FSU also picked up a 2020 commitment on Saturday in linebacker Keyshawn Greene.

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

On the Agenda

FSU baseball will take on Stetson on Tuesday in a contest that begins at 6 p.m. EST and airs on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

3-star cornerback Renardo Green committed to FSU late Monday night.

FSU baseball defeated Stetson on Tuesday night at Dick Howser Stadium, 4-0.

FSU baseball fell from 10th to No. 17 in the NCBWA Poll.
