It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As your day moves along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

After dropping in the polls on Monday, Florida State will have a chance to make a big statement on Tuesday as it travels to Gainesville to take on reigning national champion Florida.

Andrew Karp, who is 3-0 on the season with a 1.56 ERA, will get the start on the mound for FSU. Lefty Jordan Butler, who is 2-1 with a 2.50 ERA, will pitch for Florida. FSU will be without J.C. Flowers, a sophomore outfielder, who will miss the contest with a sore throat.

Karp was outstanding in last season’s match-up in Gainesville, striking out 11 and allowing just a run in seven innings of work before ultimately taking the loss in a 1-0 defeat. Overall, the Gators have won 10 of 11 in the series. The contest begins at 6 p.m. EST and airs on SEC Network+.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s tennis defeated Pepperdine on Monday, 4-0.
