Florida State men’s hoops is in the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year and it will be facing a Missouri team on Friday night that is shorthanded.

According to reports, the eighth-seeded Tigers will be without senior forward Jordan Barnett during Friday night’s match-up in Nashville. Barnett is serving a suspension after being charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday morning in Columbia.

While shooting 41 percent from beyond the 3-point arc, Barnett ranks second for the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Friday’s contest will tip off at 9:50 p.m. EST on TBS.

FSU men’s tennis match with Pepperdine was postponed until Monday. FSU beach volleyball fell out west to UCLA and USC, each by 3-2 scores.

News and Notes

The ACC will name players of the week for various sports on Monday.

FSU fell three spots to No. 6 in the Baseball America Poll. The Seminoles fell from fourth to seventh in the Poll and from third to seventh in the Collegiate Baseball. FSU fell two spots from No. 4 to No. 6 in the NCBWA Poll.

FSU women’s hoops opens the NCAA Tournament on Saturday against Arkansas-Little Rock.

Pitcher Andrew Karp will start for FSU at Florida on Tuesday. Outfielder J.C. Flowers will miss the contest with a sore throat.
