FSU Baseball: Midweek Series with Kansas Moved Up

FSU athletics

The threat of inclement weather has thrown Florida State a curveball for its midweek series with Kansas.

The Seminoles and Jayhawks were initially set to meet on Tuesday and Wednesday, but weather has forced the teams to move Wednesday’s contest to Monday. If weather is an issue and the two teams are unable to play on either Monday or Tuesday, a series finale for Wednesday is possible.

No starters have been named yet, but it is likely that Andrew Karp will throw a least one of the two games for the Seminoles. Cobi Johnson and C.J. Van Eyk could each be possibilities for Florida State.

Thus far for the season, the third-ranked Seminoles are 10-0. FSU used a Drew Mendoza walk-off single to down UNC-Asheville on Saturday, 4-3, and will go for the sweep on Sunday.

Kansas is off to a 7-2 start after winning four straight and will go for the sweep of Texas Southern on Sunday. FSU and Kansas have never met on the baseball diamond. Both games will start at 6 p.m. EST and air on ACC Network Extra.
