The Daily Nole — March 2, 2018: FSU to Go Retro for Spring Game

Bob Leverone/Sporting News

It’s Friday, Florida State fans. As your weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State’s spring game on April 14 will be a blast from the past.

In addition to post-game musical performances from Vanilla Ice and Salt N’ Pepa, FSU will paint the end zones in the style that they were for the Seminoles’ decade of domination of the 1990s. The Seminoles went from the white background, partially painted spear look to a garnet end zone in 2008.

The baseball game for that day against Duke has already been sold out. The spring football game will kick off at 6 p.m. EST. Tickets are $10.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.

On the Agenda

Both FSU men’s and women’s tennis teams will be at Clemson on Friday. FSU beach volleyball will take on St. Petersburg College twice. FSU softball opens the Unconquered Tournament against Hofstra and Oregon. FSU baseball opens a 3-game series against UNC-Asheville at 6 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. FSU women’s hoops will take on Miami in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m. EST on Raycom Sports Network.

FSU baseball topped UNC-Asheville on Friday night, 9-2.

FSU women’s hoops topped Miami in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday night, 73-69.
