FSU’s Thomas, Wright Make All-ACC Women’s Hoops Team

Another outstanding regular season for Florida State women’s basketball has ended with a pair of Seminoles on the All-ACC team.

Seniors Shakayla Thomas, a forward and guard Imani Wright were named first-team selections on Tuesday. Thomas was named the ACC Player of the Year a season ago.

For the season, Thomas is averaging a team-high 17.3 points on 51 percent shooting. She has also averaged 6.8 rebounds per game, which ranks second on the squad behind only Chatrice White.

Wright has averaged 17 points per game this season while shooting 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Wright set an FSU single-season record with 97 makes this season, which accounted for more than 46 percent of the team’s total triples.

The Seminoles closed the regular season on Sunday with a 64-61 win over Georgia Tech and a 24-5 record. FSU will be the No. 3 seed in Greensboro for the ACC Tournament, which begins this week.

The Seminoles will face either Miami, Pittsburgh or Wake Forest. To see the full All-ACC team, click here. The conference’s player, coach and rookie of the year will be announced on Wednesday.
