It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State earned a big victory on Wednesday night, rallying from 18 points down to top 11th-ranked Clemson in overtime, 81-79.

The victory was also a significant one for the FSU head coach. Leonard Hamilton collected his 500th career win with the victory and his 300th while in Tallahassee.

Hamilton’s win total at FSU would be higher had it not been for an academic cheating scandal that forced him to vacate 22 wins more than a decade ago. He is the winningest coach in program history.

Between the Lines

FSU softball defeated Florida A&M 9-0 in its home opener on Wednesday. FSU swimming and diving began the ACC Championships in Greensboro. FSU basketball defeated Clemson in overtime, 81-79.

On the Agenda

FSU swimming and diving will continue the ACC Championships on Thursday. FSU women’s hoops will host Clemson in a contest that begins at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU women’s hoops’ contest against Clemson will be “Paint it Pink” night.

FSU’s Blaire Mulka is the ACC diving champion for the 1-meter dive event.
