The Daily Nole — Feb. 12, 2018: FSU Women Complete Regular Season Sweep of Miami

Lead Story

Two rivalry contests against Miami this season and two blowouts. Florida State women’s basketball completed the sweep of the rival Hurricanes on Sunday with a 91-71 victory in Coral Gables.

Imani Wright scored a team-high 21 points to lead four Seminoles in double-figures. Shakayla Thomas added 19 points while Chatrice White chipped in with 14 points. Nausia Woolfolk finished one rebound shy of a triple-double with 18 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists in the win.

FSU shot 55 percent from the field and led by as many as 24 points in the contest. Erykah Davenport scored 21 points to pace the Hurricanes.

With the win, the Seminoles improve to 21-4. Up next is a home contest with Clemson on Thursday. FSU completed the regular season sweep of Miami for a second season in a row, but the Hurricanes did get the better of the Noles in last season’s ACC Tournament.

Between the Lines

FSU’s women’s hoops contest was the only athletic event scheduled for Sunday.

On the Agenda

FSU men’s golf begins the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate on Monday.

News and Notes

The ACC will announce players of the week for various sports.

FSU women’s hoops is ranked 12th in this week’s AP Poll.

FSU’s Zaquandre White and Kyle Meyers were cited on marijuana charges.
