The Daily Nole — Jan. 17, 2018: Two FSU Women’s Hoops Commits Named McDonald’s All-Americans

Lead Story

A pair of incoming players for Florida State’s women’s basketball team were named McDonald’s All-Americans on Tuesday.

Forward Valencia Myers and guard Izabela Nicoletti Leite each earned that distinction. The annual high school all-star game will be held in Atlanta on March 28.

Those two become the fifth and sixth committed Seminoles to play in the McDonald’s All-American game. That number balloons to nine if transfers are included, which includes current players Kiah Gillespie and Chatrice White. The most recent FSU signee to play in the game was current senior Shakayla Thomas in 2014.

FSU baseball will take on Boston College on April 21 at Fenway Park to raise awareness for ALS.
