Florida State running back Jacques Patrick is set to be part of new head coach Willie Taggart’s run-heavy offense.

The junior from Orlando announced on Wednesday that he would return for a senior season. Patrick joins defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas as draft possibilities to announce a return to school.

Patrick finished his junior season with a career-high 748 yards rushing on 134 carries and seven touchdowns. Patrick also caught 21 passes for 171 yards. He eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark in wins over Wake Forest and Louisiana-Monroe.

Patrick will likely continue to split time with Cam Akers in the FSU backfield. Akers rushed for a team-high 1,024 this past season, eclipsing Dalvin Cook’s freshman rushing record at Florida State.
