The Daily Nole — Dec. 7, 2017: Taggart to Earn $5 Million Annually

The details of Willie Taggart’s contract have been released and the new Florida State head coach will earn $30 million over six years.

There are other incentives in his contract that include $150,000 for an ACC title and $500,000 for a national championship. $5.5 million will be allocated to pay Taggart’s 10 assistants.

FSU will pay portions of Taggart’s buyout at both Oregon and South Florida. If Taggart is terminated, he will owe FSU $5 million, per reports.

Between the Lines

FSU basketball defeated Loyola-Maryland on Wednesday night, 96-71.

On the Agenda

The FSU women will host Stetson at 7 p.m. EST on Thursday night. The game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU is a 15.5-point favorite over Southern Mississippi in the Independence Bowl.

The Nov. 10, 2018 contest between FSU and Notre Dame in South Bend will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST and air on NBC.
