FSU OL Brock Ruble to Forego Final Year

Florida State may have found a new football coach in Oregon’s Willie Taggart, but there’s one FSU player with eligibility remaining that Taggart won’t get to coach.

Brock Ruble, a redshirt junior offensive lineman, took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to announce that he would not be playing his final season. Ruble appeared in 10 games this season for FSU at both guard and tackle after making starts at right tackle in each of the previous two seasons.

Ruble joins tight end and fellow redshirt junior Mavin Saunders as players to announce they would not return to FSU next season. Ruble made 13 starts in his FSU career.

With Rick Leonard graduating and Ruble tleaving, the right tackle spot for FSU could be wide open next season. Josh Ball is currently starting at left tackle. Other options at tackle could include current starting guard Derrick Kelly, Jauan Williams, Ethan Frith and Abdul Bello among others.
