It’s Friday, Florida State fans. As we inch closer to the weekend and the big game, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State men’s basketball will participate in another preseason tournament next season, but unlike this season, it won’t have to go far.

The Seminoles will be one of eight teams taking part in the 2018 AdvoCare Invitational at ESPN’s Wide World or Sports on Disney property. Joining FSU will be College of Charleston, LSU, Memphis, Oklahoma State, UAB, Villanova and a team to be named later.

In 2009, FSU won what was then called the Old Spice Classic at the same location. The Seminoles defeated Iona, Alabama and finally Marquette for the title.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU volleyball will be at Georgia Tech at 1 p.m. Friday. The FSU women’s basketball team will host Sacred Heart at 4 p.m. The men will host The Citadel at 8 p.m. All contests will air on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

FSU basketball is listed as a 28.5-point favorite over The Citadel.

FSU basketball defeated The Citadel on Friday night, 113-78.
