The Daily Nole — Nov. 20, 2017: FSU Opens as Favorite Over Florida

It’s Monday, Florida State fans. As you settle in to your holiday work week, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State and Florida may both be 4-6 and this season’s contest may be in Gainesville, but the Seminoles are the early favorite.

According to Bovada, FSU will open as a 5-point favorite. The Seminoles are coming off a 77-6 win over Delaware State on Saturday while Florida handled UAB, 36-7.

Florida State will look to set a school-record by beating Florida a fifth straight time on Saturday. Over the last four FSU victories, the closest contest was 24-19 in 2014.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s swimming and diving won the Georgia Tech Invite on Sunday while the women finished third. FSU hoops defeated Colorado State to wrap up the Jamaica Classic, 90-73. FSU soccer’s season came to an end on Sunday with a 1-0 loss to Stanford in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. FSU women’s hoops defeated Grambling, 96-53. FSU volleyball defeated Virginia in four sets.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

FSU freshman defensive end Joshua Kaindoh has been named the ACC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week after recording four sacks in Saturday’s win over Delaware State.

The Dec. 2 contest between FSU and Louisiana-Monroe will air on ACC Network Extra.
