The Daily Nole — Oct. 21, 2017: Isaac, Bacon Have Solid NBA Nights

Two games into their NBA rookie seasons, former Florida State players are making a nice impact for their NBA teams.

In his first road game for the Orlando Magic on Friday night, forward Jonathan Isaac finished with nine points on 4-for-5 shooting which included his first career 3-pointer to go along with three assists, two steals and a block in a 126-121 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Guard Dwayne Bacon finished with six points on 2-for-4 shooting for the Charlotte Hornets in a 109-91 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night while adding 11 rebounds.

Isaac will be in action again on Saturday night as the Magic visit the reigning Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers. Bacon and the Hornets won’t play again until Monday night when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks.

Between the Lines

FSU volleyball fell to Notre Dame in four sets on Friday. FSU women’s tennis continued the ITA Southeast Regional Championships. FSU men’s golf currently sits in 11th place at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Championship.

On the Agenda

FSU football will host Louisville on Saturday in a contest that begins at noon EST and airs on ESPN. FSU women’s tennis will continue the ITA Southeast Regional Championships. FSU men’s golf resumes the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Championship.

News and Notes

FSU is a 6-point favorite for Saturday’s game against Louisville.

FSU safety Derwin James was named a second-team Midseason All-American by Athlon Sports.

FSU was defeated by Louisville on Saturday, 31-28.
