The Daily Nole — Oct. 9, 2017: Duke Contest to Start at Noon

It’s Monday, Florida State fans. For those of you returning to work, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics as we update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

After consecutive 3:30 p.m. EST starts, Florida State will have an earlier kickoff time on Saturday.

The Oct. 14 contest in Durham between FSU and Duke will begin at noon EST and air on ESPN2, the ACC announced Sunday. The contest was originally given a 6-day hold with the start time slated for either noon or 3:30 p.m. EST.

Florida State will look to avoid its first 1-4 start since 1975 when it visits Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday. After dropping contests to Miami and Virginia, Duke will hope to avoid a third straight loss.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s tennis wrapped up All-American Qualifying while the men continued the All-American Main Draw on Sunday. FSU soccer fell to Duke, 2-0.

News and Notes

With the addition of 4-star cornerback Houston Griffith, FSU moved up to No. 7 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings for 2018.

ACC players of the week for various sports will be announced on Monday.

The ACC will release game times for Oct. 21 football games on Monday.
