For the second week in a row, Florida State did not play a football game and for a second week in a row, it dropped in the polls.

FSU fell one spot in this week’s Amway Coaches Poll from No. 10 to No. 11. In the AP Poll, FSU also fell one spot to No. 12 from 11th.

After having the Sept. 9 contest against Louisiana-Monroe cancelled because of Hurricane Irma, the Seminoles were slated to host rival Miami this week, but that game was postponed until Oct. 7.

Remaining atop this week’s Coaches Poll was Alabama, followed by Clemson and Oklahoma. Penn State and USC flipped spots as the Nittany Lions went from fifth to fourth and the Trojans fell from No. 4 to No. 5. The AP top 5 mirrored the Coaches Poll.

In the AP Poll, Oklahoma State was No. 6, followed by Washington. Those teams were reversed in the Coaches Poll. Michigan held firm at No. 8 in both polls.

The Wolverines were followed by Wisconsin and Ohio State in the AP Poll. The Badgers and Buckeyes were reversed in the Coaches Poll.

In addition to Clemson and FSU, three other ACC teams remained ranked. Virginia Tech and Miami are 13th and 14th respectively in each poll. Louisville ranks 19th in the AP Poll and 20th in the Coaches.
