Florida State redshirt sophomore quarterback Deondre Francois continues to garner the preseason recognition.

On Wednesday, Francois was among 30 quarterbacks named to the Manning Award watch list. The award annually given by the Sugar Bowl Committee has gone to the nation’s top quarterback every year since 2004.

Francois earned ACC Rookie of the Year honors last season while accounting for more than 3,500 total yards and 25 total touchdowns. Francois engineered comeback wins over Ole Miss, N.C. State and Michigan en route to leading the Seminoles to a top-10 finish.

Francois was previously named to watch lists for the Maxwell, Davey O’Brien and Walter Camp Awards. Francois will look to become the second FSU quarterback to win the Manning Award. The first was Jameis Winston during his Heisman Trophy season of 2013.
