It was a big Friday for Florida State on the recruiting trail.

Just moments after the addition of 3-star safety John Huggins, a 2018 prospect, the Seminoles landed the top cornerback for 2019, according to Scout.

Akeem Dent, a 6-0, 170-pound prospect from West Palm Beach, has committed to FSU. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, the 5-star Dent is the No. 5 overall prospect for 2019 and the best cornerback.

Dent becomes the seventh member of FSU’s 2019 class, but the first cornerback. The Seminoles entered the day with the No. 4 overall class for 2019. With the addition of Dent, FSU leapfrogs LSU to No. 3 behind only rival Florida and Georgia.
