Florida State has made some recruiting noise heading into the weekend.

On Friday afternoon, 4-star center Verdis Brown made his commitment to the Seminoles. Brown picked FSU over Ohio State, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma and others.

Brown, a 6-3, 295-pound prospect out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, is listed as the No. 190 overall prospect for 2018, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Brown is also listed as the nation’s No. 2 center.

Brown becomes the 13th commitment of Florida State’s 2018 class, the first center and the third offensive lineman, joining fellow 4-stars Christian Meadows and Christian Armstrong. Brown is the highest rated prospect of the three, per the composite.

Entering the day, FSU had the No. 12 overall class, according to the composite. The addition of Brown moves the Seminoles up three spots to No. 9.
