Lead Story

Florida State men’s golf was able to extend its season on Sunday at the NCAA Championships in Sugar Grove, Illinois, but to do it again, the Seminoles have some work to do.

After three rounds of the NCAA Championships, the field was cut in half from 30 teams to 15. The fourth round will take place on Monday, but to advance to match play, teams must finish in the top 8 at the end of the day.

The Seminoles currently sit in 12th at -4 for the tournament, meaning they will need to climb at least four spots to get into match play. Currently, Baylor and Virginia are tied for seventh place at -9. Vanderbilt leads the tournament at -18.

Individually, Texas’ Scottie Scheffler continues to lead at -12. Currently pacing the Seminoles is Harry Ellis, who sits in a 10th place tie at -6.

Between the Lines

In addition to golf, FSU softball’s season came to an end with a 6-4 loss to LSU in the decisive game of the Tallahassee Super Regional. FSU baseball scored seven unanswered run to down North Carolina in the ACC Championship, 7-3.

On the Agenda

Golf is the only scheduled FSU athletic event.
