It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. It looks to be a light one, but keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics.

Lead Story

Florida State softball booked a trip to the NCAA Super Regionals on Sunday with an 8-5 win over Georgia and now the No. 4 Seminoles know who they’ll be facing.

No. 13 national seed LSU punched its ticket to Tallahassee on Monday with a win over Louisiana-Lafayette. The Tigers were forced to advance from the loser’s bracket after falling to the Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday, but did so by winning three straight, including the last two over Louisiana-Lafayette by scores of 6-1 and 5-1.

LSU has been led this season by Bailey Landry, who is hitting .418 with 51 runs scored, and Sahvanna Jaquish, who leads the team with nine home runs and 56 RBIs to go with a .344 batting average. In the circle, Carley Hoover and Allie Walljasper have respective ERAs of 1.02 and 1.30 to go with a combined 29-11 record.

The best-of-three Super Regional will be held at JoAnne Graf Field, where the Seminoles are undefeated this year. The first game will be held on Friday at 5 p.m. and will air on ESPNU.

Between the Lines
