After surprisingly falling out of the first round, Florida State’s all-time leading rusher’s dream became a reality on Friday night as Dalvin Cook was selected 41st overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

During his three years at Florida State, Cook rushed for a school-record 4,644 yards and 46 touchdowns. The Miami native was named the MVP of the Orange Bowl in his final game, accounting for 207 total yards and a touchdown in a 33-32 win over Michigan.

In 2014, Cook became the first freshman in FSU history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Cook would also become the first Florida State rusher to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in each of his first three seasons on campus.

With the selection to Minnesota, Cook becomes the highest FSU running back selected since Warrick Dunn went 12th overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1997.
