What was recently a 4-game losing streak is now a 3-game winning streak for Florida State. Behind two home runs from junior Dylan Busby on Wednesday night, the Seminoles took down Stetson at Dick Howser Stadium, 7-3.

With the win, FSU improved to 24-15 on the year. It will begin at 3-game series at rival Miami on Friday.

The Good: For the fifth game in a row, Florida State scored at least seven runs. Of Florida State’s seven hits, five went for extra bases. The Seminoles also got a solid effort from their bullpen as Clayton Kwiatkowski and Chase Haney combined to allow just one run in 4 2/3 innings. Fielding was solid all around with neither club committing an error.

The Bad: Being able to hold onto early leads continues to be a problem for FSU. The Seminoles led 3-0 after four innings before allowing the Hatters to tie the game with three runs in the fifth on Wednesday. Fortunately for FSU, it responded with four in the bottom half.

The Ugly: Stetson gave up seven runs to FSU, but could have done a better job of making the Seminoles earn it. While FSU finished with seven hits, the Hatters allowed nine base-runners either by walk or hit batter.

Studs of the Game: The top of the FSU order was something to see on Wednesday. Taylor Walls went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Dylan Busby was 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs. FSU catcher Cal Raleigh homered for a second straight game as well. Jack Gonzalez hit a 2-run home run in the fifth for Stetson to tie the game. Mike Spooner was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Hatters.

Duds of the Game: Jackson Lueck had a night to forget for FSU, going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts. It was his second straight game without a hit. Jorge Arenas and Austin Bogart were a combined 0-for-8 for Stetson. Bogart, the starting pitcher for the Hatters, also had a tough day on the mound, yielding three runs on four hits with two walks in less than two innings.
