FSU athletics

Florida State’s slate of opponents for 2018 is now complete.

According to the school, FSU will play Samford on Sept. 8, 2018. The Bulldogs join Northern Illinois, Notre Dame and rival Florida among non-conference foes for the Seminoles.

The ACC confirmed on Wednesday that the Seminoles would open the 2018 season on Labor Day or Sept. 3 against Virginia Tech, making the contest with Samford on a short week. FSU has home games slated against Northern Illinois for Sept. 22 and Florida for Nov. 24. Florida State will visit Notre Dame on Nov. 10.

The details for the 2018 contest against Samford are not yet known. Samford is the alma mater of FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher and his predecessor, Bobby Bowden. Samford was also the program that Fisher made his head coaching debut against in 2010. The Seminoles won that contest, 59-6.
