It’s Friday, Florida State fans. To help you close out your work week, we’ll get you the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

College football expert Phil Steele updated his predictions for the Preseason AP top 10 on Thursday and for Florida State, expectations are high.

Steele predicts that the Seminoles will begin the year ranked third in the AP Poll, behind only Alabama and Ohio State. Three of Steele’s top 10 teams will appear on FSU’s schedule. In addition to the top-ranked Crimson Tide, defending national champion Clemson came in at No. 6 and rival Florida rounded out the top 10.

If Steele’s preseason prediction came to fruition, it would be the second-highest preseason start for FSU under head coach Jimbo Fisher. After winning the 2013 national championship, the Seminoles topped the preseason poll in 2014.
