It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. That means we’re almost to the weekend and getting to watch the Lady Noles take on Oregon State in the Sweet 16. In the meantime, we’ll try to update you on the latest. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State pitched a fourth straight shutout on Wednesday as the tandem of Jessica Burroughs and Meghan King combined to allow just four hits in a 4-0 victory over UCF.

Burroughs, the ACC’s Pitcher of the Week, lasted just two innings, but King was stellar in relief. At the plate, Carsyn Gordon and Zoe Casas were each 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored. Gordon and Ellie Cooper had back-to-back RBIs the second inning to make it 2-0. That score remained until the seventh when Casas blasted a 2-run home run.

With the win, FSU improved to 29-1-1 on the year. The Seminoles will be in Charlottesville for a 3-game series with Virginia over the weekend.

Between the Lines

Other than softball, FSU swimming and diving competed in the NCAA Championships.

On the Agenda

The NCAA swimming and diving championships will continue in Indianapolis on Wednesday.
