Fresh off its biggest win of the season, Florida State is starting to make believers out of people. The Seminoles are 14-1 on the year and one of just two ACC teams undefeated in conference play at 2-0.

FSU is coming off a thrilling 60-58 victory at Virginia that was won on a step-back 3-pointer by Dwayne Bacon with two seconds remaining. The Seminoles for the moment look to be well on their way to a first NCAA Tournament appearance in five years. Bracketologists currently have FSU penciled in as the presumed ACC champion and very high in their brackets.

Florida State peaked this week as a No. 2 seed in the bracket of NBC Sports’ Dave Ommen, which was released Thursday. Ommen has the Seminoles as the 2-seed in the Midwest Region, playing 15th-seed and projected Big South Champion, UNC-Asheville.

Chris Dobbertean of SB Nation, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm and ESPN’s Joe Lunardi all have FSU playing in the South Region in Orlando, but as a 3-seed.

Dobbertean has the Seminoles facing projected Southern Conference champion Furman, a No. 14 seed in a bracket unveiled Friday morning. Palm has FSU facing No. 14 seed and projected Atlantic Sun champion Florida Gulf Coast in his bracket updated on Friday. In a bracket released Thursday, Lunardi pits Florida State against projected Patriot League champion Bucknell.

As for the No. 12 Seminoles, they’ll host No. 21 Virginia Tech on Saturday with the hopes of starting 3-0 in ACC play for the first time ever. With a victory, it’s possible FSU could ascend into the top 10 of the polls.
