In a week that saw seven of the nation’s top 25 teams lose to unranked opponents, teams that were fortunate enough to survive the upset bids rose in the polls. Among them was Florida State, who crushed Boston College on Friday night 45-7 to improve to 7-3.

In the AP Poll, FSU rose three spots to No. 15. The Seminoles fell a spot from 19th to 20th last week. In the Amway Coaches Poll, the Seminoles moved up three spots from 18th to No. 15.

The top 5 was the same in each of the two traditional polls. Alabama continued to top the polls, but No. 2 was Ohio State, third was Louisville, fourth was Michigan and Clemson rounded out the top 5.

FSU is one of four ACC teams ranked in at least one of the polls. Aside from Louisville who is now third in both polls after beating Wake Forest and Clemson, who slipped to fifth in both polls after falling at home to Pittsburgh, North Carolina is 24th in the Coaches Poll. After falling at Duke, the Tar Heels are no longer ranked in the AP Poll.

The Seminoles will face Syracuse this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST
